Playing Innovation Journey at WIL26
Exploring inclusive work-integrated learning through public-sector challenges.
On 22 September 2026, Cláudia S. Costa, Bárbara Barroso and Inês Barbedo from the UPB team presented “Playing Innovation Journey: A Game-based Workshop for Inclusive WIL through Public-Sector Challenges” at WIL26, hosted by University West in Trollhättan, Sweden.
The workshop allowed conference participants to play the Innovation Journey, the card game developed within the INNlocal project. Public-sector challenges provided the starting point for a practical learning experience, connecting the game with the conference theme, “Embracing Diversity in Work-Integrated Learning Practices”.
The session placed Innovation Journey in a new educational context, inviting consideration of how challenges faced by public administration can be used to support inclusive learning through play.
