Innovation Journey Introduced to Havířov City Councillors
On 7 June 2026, the Innovation Journey card game was presented to members of the Havířov City Council as part of the ongoing dissemination activities of the INNlocal – Innovation in and through Local Governments project.
The session was facilitated by Pavel Tuleja, a member of the INNlocal project team from the Faculty of Public Policies, Silesian University in Opava, who also serves as a city councillor in Havířov. This provided a valuable opportunity to introduce the game directly to local decision-makers and discuss its potential as a tool for fostering innovation in local governance.
During the session, councillors explored a range of scenarios reflecting challenges commonly faced by local authorities. Through the game’s combination of dialogue, collaboration, and problem-solving, participants were encouraged to consider different perspectives and identify innovative approaches to public sector issues.
The activity demonstrated how the Innovation Journey game can support discussion among elected representatives and contribute to a deeper understanding of innovation processes within local government. By engaging practitioners directly involved in municipal decision-making, the session further strengthened the connection between the INNlocal project and real-world public administration practice.
