INNlocal Card Game Goes Czech!
Innovation Journey presented at the II European (Local) Public Innovation Conference in Opava.
On 18 September 2025, the INNlocal Project – Innovation in and through Local Governments showcased its dialogical card game – Innovation Journey – during the II European (Local) Public Innovation Conference, hosted at Silesian University in Opava, Czech Republic.
For the first time, the game was played in the Czech language, marking an important step in making this participatory tool accessible to new audiences. Designed to foster reflection and applied learning on innovation in local public administration, the game invited participants to explore authentic governance challenges interactively and engagingly.
The activity, led by Bárbara Barroso from the Bragança Polytechnic University (Portugal), demonstrated how gamification can support capacity-building in public administration, stimulating dialogue, collaboration, and critical thinking. By connecting environmental sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and citizen participation, the tool reinforces the project’s mission to promote a sustainable, inclusive, and citizen-centered innovation culture within local governments.
This session in Opava confirmed the value of innovative approaches, while extending INNlocal’s reach across Europe.
